Whats wrong with the rubber mount? Do you mean the rubber neck in the centre of the airbox that seals around the around the neck of carb? If so part number appears to be 052 129 625 B, but check at VW before ordering.

Ah, don't recall this being rubber? Think its a couple of cork gaskets usually, might be gasket sealent smeared round the edges that you can see? Sure you can still get a new carb mounting gasket kit from GSF.

I think dubbers was being sarcastic!  One speed and can't park - Female drivers?

The carb mount should be available from GSF or similar independent specialists. It's two bits of steel, with a rubber sandwich between them, to help prevent excessive heat transfer to the carb. The bottom piece of steel has four really long bolts (about 100mm) which go right through the inlet manifold. If yours is split, a new one will transform the engine, which is currently running on a really weak mixture (if it will run at all…).

Just to clarify, are your wipers on all the time when you have the car running regardless of the switch position? I assume you have a Golf C. The Golf C was the base spec model and VW skimped on intermitent wiper speed, so you will only have stop, on and slightly faster.

Park means when they are switched off they stop at the botton of the screen like normal!

I think it could be one of 2 things:

1) There will be a wire to the motor that is always positive (looking at wiring diagrams it could be black and grey?). Check this wire to make sure you're getting 12v when the wipers are switched off. The motor needs this 12v feed so that it can move the wipers to the parked position after the wipers are switched off.

2) It could be a fault with the wiper motor itself. It will have some sort of switch in it that cuts the power to it when the wipers come to the park position, this could be faulty.

So first check the wiring and then take the motor apart and have a look. You may need a new one.

I've never had a problem with mine on my golfs but have on a mini. I'm sure the setup is similar but may be wrong?

Hope this helps,

Ross
