Think it's time you invested in a workshop manual.  I've always found the Haynes books excellent.

The biggest pain removing any mk1 engine is the bolts that hold the driveshafts onto the diff cups on the gearbox.  These are splined and require a splined key and ALOT of force! (Then they still don't come out).

I'd order a full set plus the washers (which fit two bolts a piece) in advance then just cut the heads off them - they are easy to turn out of the threads in the diff cups once the shafts are clear.

Also be mindful of setting the gearlinkage to it's centre line when you put it all back together.

All in all, it's pretty easy.  I did my first one years and years ago and even with my mickey mouse tools it only took me one weekend to have one engine out and the other in and running.  Pity it was the coldest, windyest, wettest weekend I've ever known.
