Few quick questions!
I have a few questions that I hope some of you guys can answer in order to help me getting my mark 1 back on the road!
First of all, my speedo has gone and i've tested the cable by disconnecting and driving - square wire doesn't spin.
I have the replacement speedo cable from Crazy Quiffs and was wondering where I can get the replacement drive gears for the small block 1.1/1.3 gearboxes?
Secondly, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what other indications I can look for on my engine (barring the engine code on the front) in order to help me tell whether it's a 1.1 or 1.3! I'm convinced it's a 1.3 as the camshaft cover marking for setting the timing is the 1.3 marking according to my haynes. Also, it's been set up on a weber carb and jetted for a 1.1 and doesn't run well at all no matter what you do with the mixture or idle!
Finally, I need to find out where I can get a 1.3 jet for a weber 34ICH carb that i've currently got fitted!
Thanks a lot in advance for any and all the help I hope some of you guys will be able to give!
This is all in aid of me getting the mark 1 back on the road again!
Cheers,
Josh.

Looking on ETKA the part number for the speedo drive for a GU gearbox is 048 409 197 try your local dealer but checking vw classic parts centre it no longer available.
The engine is not marked in any other way but a 1.3 engine code is GF
As for the weber carb search the internet for a weber dealer

I've managed to replace the speedo cable and didn't need a new drive gear as the cable was the one that snapped!
I'll bear you in mind for future if I do end up needing a drive gear Dubboy!
Cheers,
Josh.
