Is the 1.3 Exhaust piping diameter the same as the Gti?

I think the gti is 2"

It's pretty easy to use a GTI centre and rear pipe and attach at the flexi at the end of the 1.3 front pipe.

Anyone got a GTi midde

You would be surprised how cheap they are to buy from an exhaust place.

The tried and tested method is to use the pre-79 1100/1300 centre section becuase this is a straight pipe and then mate that up (not as hard as you might think) with the GTI backbox (which I'm guessing you already have?)

I Dont have one yet, just looking at it as an option

can you use a polo g40 manifold / g40 de cat downpipe / gti system ??

Im about to buy the centre ( no silencer one ) for mine…..does it make much difference to noise…bearing in mind i have to leave my house every morning at 3.30am !!   :roll:

If you wanted to you could - is that all you have available?

If you want performance, go for an Ashley 4 branch tubular manifold/front pipe.

If you want something cheap, flow the standard exhaust manifold bearing in mind that you want the ports slightly oversize in comparison to those on the exhaust side of the head.

g40 manifold / g40 de cat downpipe / gti system ……… Was just a thought, keeping my exhaust standard & my brothers has full stainless powerflow. g40 manifold / g40 de cat downpipe are going on trackday polo to help it rev better. my brothers already flowed the standard exhaust manifold & doing mine when i do the head gasket
