hi all can I ask if that morris engine oil is any good for a mk1 gti

What morris engine oil? They do loads of different ones.

Hi it's multivis 10w-40 semi synthetic was recommendedbut on the next breath was told no good

10w40 is probably a little bit thin, depending on your engine condition.

I use 20w50 to tone down the tappets on it, and bridge the gap between knackered piston rings and knackered bores.

Also, i think brands are much of a muchness, I use millers, but all of my other cars have used halfords with no problems.

I, personally, would also use mineral oil, rather than semi-synth.

I noticed in your first post you say its a Mk1 Gti (this should be in the Big block injection section)

10W40 is fine to use, don't know why the said its was not good?

This is what VW would use in your engine.

we have this at work and just between me,you and the forum  :lol: ..I don`t use it..and I can have it for free. O_o
