yeah had a look at gsf and a few others, no-one seems to cater for 1.1s there is no rush anyway as the car is off-road at the minute.

The small block rubbers have been unavailable for a long time. I made my 5 speed mount with the big block parts for this reason.

They are, but you don't really need the snubber as much as the big block. I've taken mine off.

is the snubber the front one between the front of the gearbox and crossmember? hav u removed the whole bracket?

I replaced all on my mine 1.1 last year. You should be able to get them all new from except the gearbox to chassis leg one from Euro Car parts or VW. The gearbox one is deleted I had to get a decent 2nd hand one. The front mount stabilises the engine when accelerating hard and on the overrun, I'd imagine without it you might find the other mounts wear out quicker.

I took the view that the most powerful small block engine, the G40 in the Polo, doesn't use it and the other mounts are in simialr positions to the Golf. I do have a poly rear mount and the gearbox mount has a big block bush so my engine moves less anyway.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but are bushes still available? GSF website is quite vague in description and doesnt seem to list small block engines.
In desparate need of rear gearbox.
