DIY cylinder head overhaul

Im abount to do a home DIY head recon and was wondering if any1 had done this and got any top tips. and things to look out for ( ie things that wear more than the usual )

im really looking to just clean up, change seals and lap the valves and hoping i dont need to replace anything.

any thoughts guy?

a valve stem seal removal tool would of been a big help when i did mine!! i used a pair of pliers which is a bit dodgy tbh, if you can get hold of one it'd be a big help.

while the head was in bits and off the car i also removed the casting lines from the ports and did a little bit of a port and a polish…

what did you use to remove the fault lines and the polish. it all help to make the car run better.

i used my dremmel and some pipe cleaning strips i got from work, followed by wet and dry wrapped round my finger!!
