Common noise on a citi golf?

The car has always had this noise, it apears when the car is un alot of load, say in third doinf 20mph - it's a very similar noise that a beetle engine makes that metalically gurggling sound.

i had a mechanic in work look at it and he said it may just be the way it is with the car, he said his passet made the same noise, also he said it's a similar noise when you have a new exhaust system fitted.  he confirmed it's not pinking or anything like that.

Anyone else got this or can confirm it's ok?

Is this noise normal or not normal then?

does the engine change its nature when it does this? say you are acclerating at 20 mph in third then it does the noise, what happens? i meant try and get yourself over here mate have a neb at golf.

The noise, well it stays the same, can't say it changes note at all!
