Clutch cable pulled through bulkhead!
Hi all, been having problems getting into gear lately, thought it was the clutch cable on its way out, so i bought another one, and it was only when fitting it, i noticed the 'D' shaped hole in the bulkhead it goes through had been pulled into the car! I've heard from other people that the fingers on the clutch can seize up, and kind of thought this may be what's caused the cable to be pulled through the bulkhead, as the extra force required would have flexed the panel back and forth until it cracked.
Anybody had any experiences with this?
It's an '82 1093cc Golf C by the way!

this is a very common problem
the 'pulling threw' is more down to the use and 20 + years old
mine has this d strengthing plate on it and its still pulled threw, if the clutch is workin, and not realllllllly stiff im sure its fine
go down to GSF and ask for a mk1 golf bolkhead clutch repare pannel, coses about ?9 and there a beauty
hope this helps
