carb troubles

Hey all, just got my first car a 1982 1.1 golf. and i LOVE it.
only problem is im not very clued up when it comes to dubs.
im running a pireburg neuss carb and i just cant get the thing to idle without choke. it just gets lumpy and cuts out. now iv tryed to ajust what im pretty sure is the idle and air/fuel mix screws lol, but to no avail, still the same problem, all the pipes seem to be connected properly so im all outta ideas!

Cheers for any help

Take it to someone who can strip, clean & re-assemble your carb or buy a manual and learn about the wonderful world of VW's

Pieburgs are awful carbs, especially when they're a bit worn

Rather than spend time, effort and money trying to get the car running with it, you'd be better searching for a Weber replacement - you need the 34ICH 9-350

They come up secondhand every now and then - I sold my last one for around ?60 - good ones with all the correct bits (jets, gaskets etc) could be worth up to ?100
