They don't bolt on. If you want a cheap upgrade to 256mm, use the Vauxhall caliper.

Correct, as far as I know ALL front hubs on a mk1 are the same, so its a case of getting the right carriers for the calipers..

As someone else has said, you can use polo carriers ( I used ones off a mk3  " fox " )

And some early mk2 gti calipers, although I still need to find some carrier bolts   :dontknow:

Then of course you have to use the gti discs, so you could also fit some uprated pads/disc at the same time .

hi every1, just a quick question…… do mk1 cabby calipers n discs fit to a 1.1 golf c? are the hubs/wheel bearing housings the same? :dontknow:

What vauxhall caliper, do you need different carriers & can you fit 14s over the?

you need the vaux carriers to match, there is a great guide on this in the brake faq section
