air filter modification on 1.1 (weber 34 ich)

Hello guys, my 1.1 engine running vs 34ich weber webcon kit, my original air filter box is in rubbish condition so i bought an simple bike air filter that goes straight on the carburetor but because the air filter is little bit high the bonnet not closing so well. i can put there an lower air filter but i really prefer to fit some pipe that will go from the carburetor to the air filter in more effective place under the hood. any ideas? pictures?

You can get flat style k&n filters from vw heritage. An induction style kit would never be worth the hassle. Be aware though that you now will not have the warm air input and you could get carb icing or bad running.
