83' 1.1 formel E ok till driven 5 mins ?

can any one help ? just passed Mot but when driving it there & back all seemed ok till felt like it was running out of fuel  stopped  put some fuel in  was ok again then kept stopping  garage put a new filter on & blew lines out thinking it had pulled some crap or rust through . had it ticking over for a while  seemed ok  did the same driving home ? what would be the 1st thing to try  fuel pump ? any best sorts ? then coil ?

Hi seems OK now just  don't run fuel right down. Top up when 1/4 left.
