1.3 on bike carbs
does anybody know of a rolling road/bike carb specialist that can help me set up the carbs to the most economical setting? dont want to go through all this hard work and have it fail the m.o.t on emissions

Go to Bogg Brothers in Scarborough, they are the ultimate blokes to see when it comes to bike carbs. Its 80 quid for a rolling road set up.
Worth the journey trust me!

Does anyone know how to get in touch with Boggs via email?
I'm in Norway, so it's kinda expensive to call and explain what I want (bike carbs + manifold for 1,1 engine code FA)
Maybe someone can help me?

do some searching on club polo. there is alot of information there.
i run gsxr 600 carbs on a home made manifold main jets redrilled to 1.6mm. runs pretty good, balanced them with a small bike balancing gauge i borrowed.
excuse the wiring mess.

I run the same, GSXR 600 carbs on my 1.3. You can use pretty much any carbs as long as they have around 38/40mm venturis.
Olipirate, what is going on with your top mounts? Are they some sort of entended jobbies to lower your car that bit extra? Looks interesting 8)

your local friendly welder.
just get a base plate cut out using a plasma cutter and get some tubes welded on in the correct spacing.

On my set up all the carbs were linked on a slider so all i did was cut back some of the cable put the block out of chokie block on the wire and attached it up.. the pedal was rather sensitive as there was about 4cm of movement from no throtle to full throtle and the block like to pop of at the pedal end of this as I would put my foot on the pedal to low

couldnt say matey, try posting a 'parts wanted' or browsing the parts for sale section of the forum, someones always got sumthin you want/need! failing that bogg brothers do sell full setup's be lookin round £300. mines all homegrown, all in i think it cost me about £120, half the price but twice the effort, depends which way your inclined. good luck!

first road test
hmm problem…after getting the carbs suitably balanced jetted and running well i took the car out for the first drive with the carbs…its bloody awful.
or should i say its inability to put the revs to road is awful its redlining far too soon…i need a new perhaps closer ratio gearbox….any ideas what will/wont fit?
as far as engine and gearbox codes go for whats already fitted, i have no idea what they are, but i'll check in the mornin. i know its the very early run of 1.3 with the exhaust pre-heating the carb
