1.3 manifold help

is it possible to run a manifold and downpipe without having the carb warm up regulator pipe part of it??  mine has leaked before and it was idling erraticly just wondering if there is a way around it??

Yes - cut the small pipe leading from the downpipe to the manifold, and have it welded up. The make up a blanking plate for the manifold (although thinking about it, you probably don't need to do this last bit)

However, you significantly increase the risk of carb icing when the weather gets chilly

so is that all that pipe is for then or does it actually have anything to do with the running of the carb, its not a problem about the carb icing as i dont use it in the colder months.

as far as I'm aware, it simply acts as a heater for the carb to prevent icing - the exhaust gasses don't circulate anywhere - there's just a chamber in the manifold that gets heated up
