When I built my engine I've used the wrong inlet as it has 2 extra ports at the top that don't meet up with the head, see picture
I do have a 2nd inlet but it seems to have connections on it for water to circulate round, but the is one that I can't see where it would connect onto the ridged water pipe off the water pump
Any help would be good, cheers Matt

What is the engine code? My gf code 1.3 used this type of inlet but when I changed to a later poli engine I had to cut these off the manifold, maybe other mk1 golf small block engines didn't use these exhaust heater ports hence the issue?

It's a HK engine

Ahh HK I think is a polo head and so the first manifold isn't the correct one, that fits GF GG and GS

So if i use the inlet in the picture all I need to do is block off that outlet am pointing at in the picture,
Where does the pre heater plug into that on the underside of the inlet manifold?

You don't need to block them off if you're not using the exhaust heater pipe which connects underneath
