1.3 idling ok but dipping down and stalling on drive

Hi.
I've got 1.3 pierburg carb. Only just recently got this car. She idles really well with no stuttering. And from cold with the choke warming it up will drive ok.
But a soon the choke dies off, the car struggles to pull off in the gears, like it wants to stall I have to give it a lot of revs to stop it dying. If I pull up to a stop it won't stall.

I'm really puzzled to what this may be. I've serviced the car with plugs and distributor but to no avail. I've cleaned the carb with carb cleaner.

Can any body help.
Has anybody had anything like this before.

Thanks

My 2 cents would say a carb strip and clean, take the top off and clean it out properly inc removing and cleaning the jets. Check fuel hoses are not perished. Ideally the carb/ emissions could do with setting up properly too. Oh, hows the rubber carb mounting? They crack and leak air...

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that as I've never atempted a strip down of the carb.
I had a look at the gasket and did a tissue and it seemed fine. And the fuel hoses all look ok defiantly not perished. Is there anything else I can try before I have to take the carb apart?

Well the carb mounting rubber is easy enough to check, just give it a good look around and make sure there are no large cracks then grab the top of the carb and try and tilt it left right forwards and backwards, if the revs change or you can hear a sucking noise then it's knackered. Should have asked before is your carb auto choke? Could be the auto choke has been incorrectly adjusted or pipes loose/blocked etc.
