1.3 -> 1.6 Diesel - Whats needed?

Hi there,
            Just wondering if anyone can give me a few pointers on what I'll need to change to put a 1.6 Diesel into my 1.3L Petrol golf.
I'm thinking:
Fuel Tank and Lines
Change of Engine Mount
Drive Shafts?
Electrics?
Clutch and accelerator cables?

Thanks,
Fionn.

Start with a copy of EKTA. The diesel shares the tank with the GTi. Use 8mm plastic pipe from anywhere that works on lorries. You'll need a fuel filter and mount. I imagine you'll need to swap to the GTi style gearchange, which also means a GTi rack casing. Move the engine mount. Change the rad. Different gearbox mount. Different rear mount rubber. Exhaust. I think the wiring could actually be the easiest bit. There's a few Caddy's been converted the other way, so maybe the Caddy forums would be a good place to hang around.

Hi,changing a small block car to a big block is always going to be difficult,the gearbox,clutch,electrics,mountings,driveshafts,exhaust etc are all different,i put a 1.6D into a 1.5 petrol and it was running and driving in 48 hrs,same box,shafts,clutch,even the exhaust was just re clipped to the manifold,i needed a live from the old coil to the stop solenoid and the wiring and relay for the glow plugs,put some derv in the tank added a filter and it was away!

mmm sounds like it would be a bit of work alright. Still, if i can get the complete engine & gearbox together with the exhaust and drives etc from the donor car it shouldnt be too bad.
