1.3 burns the module

my 1.3 started to have power cuts,then all of a sudden did not start.then i replaced the module,it started then burnt it.at the same time the coil heats up.where could the problem be

by module do you mean the ignition control TCI unit? if so has this car been converted from points ign? if so did you change the coil for a proper electronic ignition one, and also replace the ign live wire with a proepr feed from the fusebox? points ign has a resistor wire which reduces the power to the coil, no good for electronic ign which needs full 12v
