I had a show pass (show shine/retro display) for today….BUT……I was not allwed into the show today with the car, because I was an hour or so late(10.15?!).  

I got there an hour or so later than I had hoped. The car developed a fuel hose problem….so I had to remedy it before I left for the 80 mile journey to Bodel….thingy.

Never had this sort of problem in 20years of VW shows!!

A little hacked off, I guess. So after travelling 100 miles I just came home, stopping off to do shopping with the family…..A little annoyed about it all…..especially when the organisers were slow with passes and even emailed me asking if interested in going to their show Dub Mania…..  ….

If people travel many miles in old cars…you are not going to get everyone at the showground for 9am….hence why most shows ask for 10-10.30 to be in place……

Why turn bona fide people with pre booked cars away?? Bizarre.

iv had a great weekend, thanks to every1 turning up in the rain.    

Had similar trouble on the gate myself for retro display . Paul c could not make it so sent me his pass in the post.turned up,  would not let me in because the reg number was different  never herd so much ******* in all my life . Big thanks to A5OPY for offer of a pass but i,d just blagged a club pass else where .To say i was a litte bit mad is a understatemet considering i,ve just spent four months trapped in the garage doing a engine conversion , oh well it's been worth while dope as [ash] will vouch for that :wink:

After the day I've had, I wish I could have attended too.

Still take heart fellas, it doesn't look as wet as 2006 - THAT was wet… all day!!!!!

Gammy, thanks for doing the honours again. next thing we know you'll be putting in a claim form for gas used while brewing up!!!!!!!

Had a good day out today at Bodelwyddan, my first VW show as I'm new to this - got a few bits and bobs in the jumble for my '82 GTi - sweet!

Nice to see a reasonable turnout in such unreasonable weather for a car show!

Stopped off at Henblas, Anglesey for the vintage machinery show on the way home - dubs and tractors in one day, you can't beat it!

I finally got some about 3 hours ago, went the pub for a bit on the way back though haha!

Last night was epic - Justin, I'm still having your hat.

Had a great time, really good to meet new faces, can't wait to do it all over again in a few weeks!

its mine i got shunted at a roundabout on the way there, they say i would have won the retro stand too anywho its just a bootlid and a rear panel the chassis legs and quarters are fine
