Mk1 Golf Owners Club @ RetroRides Gathering 8th August 2010

Got back in just over 1 and half hours ago from Retro Gathering at Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford Somerset, well it's been a long day, with a 6.00am start and too many speed cameras on the damn A37 for you to truly get a car wound up…it's a good job the M5 allowed for some timesaving

Thoroughly enjoyed today, a great mix of all types of Retro cars and a fair few Mk1's in all sorts of club displays and in the retro car park. On the track there was some spirited drifting going on…..with one poor car rolling over  :? ….did anyone get a photo of it?

Anyhow, was nice to meet everyone, Mixerman I'm sorry you couldn't make, bad news to hear about the mk1  :? , hope everyone enjoyed the show, see you some time soon at another show, here's todays photos, with the first 3 borrowed from Tim Hales earlier post…………….

For some, it was a tiring day, now if she'd eaten a gammy burger energy levels would have kept her going

Looks a good show. Just love the Chevette, spots on the beige saloon chevvy (as we called them back in the day)

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

I love the dolly! I grew up with them as a kid. Thats what the old man always had. I don't recognise it as being a factory colour either. It doesn't have the sprint badge on the front :dontknow:

Excellent display of cars on Sunday ladies and gents. I was drooling over them all day.

Some other stunners at the show too.
