Which rack for GTI?

Hi everyone, I need to replace the rack on my Sportline GTI and have found a rack on GSF for £62. Can anyone tell me if there was only one rack or do GTI's have quicker ones?

Also, should I replace anything else while it's off? Bushes, boots etc.

AFAIK GTIs had the same steering rack as other Mk1 Golfs (95% sure). It would make sense to change the rubber parts, eg steering column-rack rubber boot, 2x boots over the track rods. In fact, it would make sense to have a good look at the track rod ends too, and if components are seized, you'll be needing to fit new track rods too.

1 Being the small block 4 speed 1.1>1.5
1 Being the big block 5 speed 1.5>1.8GTI

The only difference being where the shifter rod attaches to the rack.
