Which clutch???????

Hey there,
I'm running a 1.8 engine at the mo, but am looking to put a 1.6 GTI box on as I much prefered the ratios and the clutch needs replacing anyway.

Question is, which clutch size do I need, the 1.8 210mm or the 1.6 190mm? I'm guessing the 190mm, but I want to make sure!

Im having exactly the same issue i bought my mk1 as an 82 1.8 gti but it has an FD17 prefix gearbox which from what i can tell is a close ratio one, and im sure the guy i bought it off told me it was'nt origional and may have been from a 1.6 gti. how do i know which clutch to get, i also was looking at getting a black diamond performance one, would this change fitment again??

im guessing the answer to sherifflee's question will also apply to me?
