Wheel Bolts too short, HELP

I recently bought some BBS RA's to put on my 89 clipper but the wheel bolts that were on the previous alloys were too short, I went to a scrappy and got some longer ones but they are still to short can anybody shed any light am confused, thought this was going to be so easy :banghead:

find some longer ones!! all you can do. try off other vags to. can be bought brand new from various places on the net. may be worth measuring then buying. keep yours as spares then

find a mk2 or mk3 golf in the scrappy, 4 stud. the mk1s used shorter wheel bolts on  cars with steelies, but from later mk2 on they switched to using the same alloy wheel bolts on all models regardless of wheels fitted.

these are definitly VW BBS wheel yes? not BMW or aftermarket RA copies
