What wheels should my car have?

The wheels I have are non standard, and I'm looking to get a set of original ones for it, if I can.

It's a 1983 (DW chassis number) 1.8 GTI, no sunroof, but everything else is campaign spec…

BUT, it's on a 1987 D plate, as it 'was registered overseas' and 'declared manufactured 1986' according to the V5.

So, campaign spec minus sunroof, would that mean I need some P-slots? or if I go by the 1983 chassis plate, do I need something else?

It doesn't reall matter too much, I'm just curious, I suppose any GTI wheels would do really.

If its a 1983 GTI you should have the tarantula alloys as seen on my car.

Or the pirelli's if you want the "campaign" look

Like the man says, 9 spoke would probably be more authentic - mine had them on.

Likewise, love the BBS rims, you going to the VW festival, Leeds?

If you want a set of the tarantulas and are prepared to arrange and pay for a courier from the isle of man then theres a set in the back of my car that you can have!

I thnik I'll be going….but have some other commitments I might not be able to get out of typical coz I live 1 mile away AND can get in for FREE ggrrrrrr

If you opt for 14'' pirelli p's for example they're 6J instead of 5.5 like 9 spokes. Worth a mention! I'll be flogging my set of 9 spokes at Leeds VW festival. Tyres as new (cheap but look good). They need refurb though, flaking in places but look fine at a glance, run perfectly, with centre caps.
