What wheels?.. £300 budget.. ideas welcome!

I purchased my mk1 1.6 citi golf a week ago and its in desperate need of some decent wheels..

The car has been lowered and previously had a ser of 15's on it that looked great but the seller wanted £650 for them seperately and they were bbs replicas..  :?

With the £650 i figured I could get a decent set and pay my insurance for the year..

So this leaves me with £300..

Ideally I would like the wheels to be 15"s but id also consider 14s..

Can anyone point me towards a nice set?…

I have been looking at the classifieds for the last few days…  

g60? proper 15"'s    can still get em new from vw for half of that

£185 for four including tyres (used but look mint!)
Well happy with some spare change for some new headlights

Sorry to interrupt the thread but I'm interested in the g60 wheel idea what would i need to ask for when i went to vw ?

Hi Ryan, I believe the wheels are part no 357601025M and should be around £30+vat each.  The centre caps - I just ordered a new one last month after losing one, the part number is 1H0601171C and are £4.23+vat each

So a new set of 15" wheels&centre caps same as my signature come in at around £150+vat!

thanks for the wheel info think i may well order some of those up found a guy near me that does white walls so might go the retro root will have some nice looking black deep dish rims and tyres for sale if i do

oh and what size tyers would you recommend

Get some bbs ra's off a mk2 golf gti and get the lips polished.

i know it might be a bit late and you might have sorted a set of rims already but i picked up a set of the bbs rims 15inch from a bmw e30 for 140 delivered by the guy to my work with 4 mint tyres. I polished the lips and sprayed the centres black and they are sourcing my ride loads of attention. I also got the centre caps redone by a vinyl company for about a tenner. I have to be honest for wheels which look nearly almost as good as bbs rs's for a fraction of the price.
The ofset is 24 and so they just out the arch by around 10mil. Cost me only 200 in total for everything.
Good route i would advise and if anyone is near croydon id be happy to help you with the lip polishing as i favour
