What size alloy Wheel studs does one need??

Hey guys just a quick question………… Does any know what size wheel studs I should be running on my sportline bbs wheels alloy wheels? I believe the wrong bolts are fitted and I may be running them on steel wheel studs!!
Does anyone think these would be fine? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-Wheel-Bolts-4-Locking-Bolts-VW-GOLF-MK1-MK2-MK3-BBS-/260713382017?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item3cb3ba8081

Thanks in advance.

Hi, they look good to me, the item description suggests they are for use with alloys and mk1 golf  :D

Did these work out for you?

My mechanic has asked me to buy 30mm bolts - were the 26mm long enough?

The bolts ended up being too long for my drums at the rear but fine for my front discs  :dontknow:

Wow, that's surprising, my spyders have 26mm threads but that gives barely a turn on the bbs wheels. I'm told 6 turns is the ideal.  The drums have 12 mm of thread so 30+ theoretically should work.

My wheels are 14 inch BBS RA's.  I'll post up once we know for sure.

Cheers

if the wheels are oem VW fitment then you need later MK2/MK3 4stud wheel bolts, either steel or alloy wequipped model they're all the same.

just fyi mk1s and possibly early mk2 used different bolts on alloy wheels to steelies, though the shorter steel wheel bolts are now deleted at vw and replaced by the longer alloy wheel ones.

if aftermarket wheels then generally they have a tapered bolt seat which wont work with VW bolts. in this case use BMW wheel bolts, they have a tapered seat, are slightly longer and also have a 17mm bolt head

This is what has finally worked for me;

1985 Golf Cabrio Mk1 standard discs up front, drums on rear.

14 inch BBS RA wheels.

12x1.5 RADIUS 35mm bolts with 17mm heads.
