What lenght should wheel nuts be?

Om my car the standard nuts are 4cm long and the locking ones are 2.5 cm long.

One of the locking nuts has lost some of its thread and I acnt tighten it up and all of the locking nuts dont seem to tighten that well  only needing two turns compared to a lot more on the standrad nuts.

looking on e-bay all the locking nuts avaialable for mk1 golfs are 2.5cm long

Any help advice appreciated?

You need a solid eight turns.

If that's your car on your thread up there… It would appear that they are bbs ra? I would stand corrected. I have ra's on mine and my wheel bolts are 38mm long as the ra's have a deeper flange on them. I don't know why. Better quality i guess. My locking wheel nut is 35mm long. And the as above a good eight turns will see it on nice. I was told six was adequate by camskill. But more the better. Also… Make sure you have the correct head. Bbs ra are 60degree radius seat. Not the usual 60degrees. They are like a mushroom head… Hope this helps.
