water leek

ive had to rip up the carpet on the passenger side ov my golf gti due to alot of water,i think the waters running down the wireing loom as ther not fitted into the body,also i think its damaged the fuse box will a mk2 fuse box be an ok replacement.if not were could i find another 1 please let me know as i dont want to buy a new carpet untill a know whats wrong?

check your scuttle drain holes aren't blocked (under the bonnet top right and left hand corners) .. maybe the front screen seal leaking? (stick some paper towel in each corner of the screen and fire a hosepipe at it!.. new fuseboxes can be bought from gsf as long as it's the later type.. check the drivers chassis leg as there is a hole there from factory towards the bulkhead side, they put tape (like gaffa tape) over it from factory to stop water going down there and soaking the drivers footwell, on the las 2 golfs ive had the tape was missing adn soaking my footwell,  also check the bonnet release cable where it goes through the bulkhead make sure theres a grommit there as water tends to trickle down there aswell.

i always have the last laugh ;)
