VW2 caliper setup

On stripping my donor golf I found that that the calipers didn't match the ones in my manual and were marked VWII.

I wasn't sure and thought they were MK2 calipers

After a bit of a dig on here I find they are standard on the GX (what I was cutting up)

Are there any differences between these and MK1 calipers, I have the option of using either. Do they use the same mounts and disc size (the GX was fitted with cross drilled vented discs)

I'll post some before and after shots of my GX soon once I've had my fun with the 9" cutter and then the agricultural tele-loader.
