vw caddy lowering springs

Hey just wondering if anyone can tell me how to lower the rear end of a mk1 caddy pick up? do i need new leaf springs? if so where can i get them? thanks Daz

hi your rear beam/axle is mounted below your leafsprings u need to remove beam cut mounting saddles from top of beam and re weld them to bottom of beam then u can mount beam on top of springs  job done

You also need shorter shocks when flipping the axle,most use beetle shocks (early 60's I think) which are very cheap from eurocarparts but I think FK etc also make proper shocks for lowered caddys.

Caddyforum will give you all the knowledge you'll need  :P

have present caddy on standard shocks and 1 before also not had any probs and had it loaded up have fully adjust/coilovers on front  u pays ya money and take your choice
