Vauxhall front brake upgrade

Hi have bought some vectra calipers & carriers & some 256mm drilled & grooved front discs.
Problem is I have the later vectra calipers so when I have bolted everything up there is 20mm of pad poking over the disc. Could I fit g60 280mm discs and sell my new drilled & grooved ones or will I have to source some early vectra or cav calipers & use my discs?
Would rather jump to 280 though!

Which model and year Vectra, there's at least 5 different kinds of caliper out there. Sounds like you have 280/284/286/288 calipers though.

Don't know as I bought them just as calipers, they are ATE & have stamp marks:
R18
8M
FN 57/25

You need to get onto the Vauxhall forums and check those codes out to be sure.

Basically, you either need to get the right calipers for 256mm brakes, or fit 280mm discs. Bear in mind your wheels might foul if you keep the calipers you now have, its probably the same as G60 stuff - ie only certain 15" wheels will fit over (check for Corrado fitment  - if they say they'll fit Corrado, they'll probably be okay over Vauxhall 280mm calipers).

Cheers paul, have some lenso BSX 15" wheels. So will sort some 280mm G60 discs & sell the 256mm drill & grooved items & start running in all my brake pipes.

Bummer! Pads for this later vectra setup are too big for G60 discs, plus when everything is bolted into place 15" wheels are too small.
Now I have two sets of drilled & grooved discs that's no use, will have to find either g60 items or early vectra calipers for the 256mm discs.
If anyone has anything let me know.
