VAUXHALL CALIPERS -52MM OR 57MM PISTON SIZE?

:? Got both size calipers and with a 22.2mm mastercylinder can you use either size?

The bigger piston has 20% more area so displaces more brake fluid - does the 22.2mm m/c cope with that?

I have caliper carriers to fit a 256mm disk ok.

Anybody used either size in their mk1 GTI VX brake conversion?

Great how to article in the forum but no mention of these 2 sizes of piston

Help and advice please!

256/280 mm calipers have 54mm pistons in so 52mm would be my preference. you could go up to an audi 23mm mc if you like? some of the mk3s have larger mc as well on the abs cars but to gfit them you need different brake fittings as the holes are bigger
