Vauxhall caliper upgrade with 256mm discs.

I know this subject has probably been talked to death, I have read all the threds etc, and I'm planning on doing this. I have researched the calipers so I can source some, and just wanted to raise one question?

The vauxhall calipers were designed for use with discs of a minimum thickness of 22mm, and the VW discs are 20mm when new. The Vauxhall discs designed for use with the calipers were 24mm.  Would this not be an issue if the pads wore completely down?? Could there not be a risk of the brakes failing, with the pistons coming all the way out?? The caliper opening is 8mm more than that of the VW.

See my web site, I`ve fitted them and used VX pads on a Brembo disc with no problems. Its only a couple of mm and if you`re fitting aftermarket stuff and adaptiing the brakes then you`re an enthusiast so the pads wont get that stage anyway, will they?

I am fitting the same calipers, and have just realised that my goodridge hoses don't fit! can u direct me tho whoever made your flexi's?

Also; who made your shoulder bolts?
