URGENT ADVICE NEEDED !!!!!!
Hello everyone,
Ive got a 1.3 driver and upgraded the the front brakes and hubs to mk2 G60. But now the track rod ends are not long enough for the wheels to sit paralel. does any one no of any body that makes track rod extension parts. Or does anyone know if the Gti steering rack and track rods are longer in length.
All advice welcome

you'll also have problems with bump steer. what you should have done is used the caliper adaptor brackets from the caddy forum, with your old hubs.

Problem sorted, I bought a pair of Mk2 tie rods and track rod ends, and they fitted like a dream. Everything working fine.

Actually while it may seem ok its not completely ok, the original steering arms were the length they were for a reason

In what way?

With bumpsteer as already suggested because the wishbones and steering arms are now different lengths but dont know how bad it may be.

the bigger issue with doing this is the height the track rods sit at, mk2 items sit lower on the hubs tyhan the mk1 items do. compare the 2 hubs next to each other and you'll see what I mean./ to fix this you need to space the ball joint or the steering arms to correct the problem
