Tyre size advice

Hello, just picked up some replacement steel wheels for my MK1 and wondering what the best tyre size is? I'm a complete tyre novice really. They are 15 inch steels, 4 x 100 and 5.5j. I don't want ridiculously low profile as I like some tyre wall.
