today my clutch pedal went loose like it had snapped?

my clutch pedal went loose when pulling up at the traffic lights like it had snapped the pedal is just floppy so i forced it into 2 second 2 get it home what do you think could be wrong as it drove fine in second 2 my home which was just around the corner ?thanks any help is much apreciated

You should check first on the "firewall" (where it goes from salong to the engine room) maybe it is just snapped out there!

could be that the lift arm thats attatched to the spigot that comes out the gearbox has come apart, there a bit of a b#tch to source but if you know a good welder then they will be able to help you! and check the bulk head plate where it enters the bay might have busted open, its a common issue, luckily i managed to source a lift arm! cost me 70quid tho!

The lever could of snapped (you'll see the metal and cable hanging loose by the gearbox in the engine bay), the cable could of snapped or it may have sawed through the gromet and snagged on the bulkhead.  have a good look inside the car, follow the cable from the pedal.

I have a clutch cable for sale, if it is that, bought by mistake....ie stupid
