Suspention question!

Hi all I'm new to this website and was wondering if someone could help!!!

This could be a real silly question to ask but I'm looking into an air ride system and found a company that I like the look of trouble is the don't do mk1 air the closest they do is mk2, I was wondering would you be able to install this system without too much trouble?

Cheers all

Depends what system and what you want from it, havair is a strut with around 50-80mm lift I think not read much into it but I know it's around the 1k mark.

Self levelling full on air job from the likes of plush automotive will be around 2k+

I think havairs kit was 1600ish, the reason I asked about the mk2 was because that ones only 1300 for some reason not sure why haha!

The backs are same and front similar but don't think they are 100% same as people would be banging em on mk1's more. Sorry pretty unhelpful lol.

Copied this off bagriders for you 89clipper

With AirRide the system combines the use of shock absorbers with air bags to manage the comfort, handling and height of a cars ride. The air bags can be inflated or deflated to adjust the ride height of the car, at the flick of a switch or press of a button.
AirRide allows you to pick the perfect height for your vehicle in any circumstance and allows you to lower and raise the ride height of your car as needed, whether parked or driving.

Air ride gives you variable ride height.

On a Mk1 Golf, the front suspension geometry means that at differnt heights, the tracking will be different. So only at one particular ride height will the tracking be correct, at other heights (give or take a few mm) it will be too far out to drive on, resulting in unusual handling and massive tyre wear.

The main advantage is you can drive it at a sensible height, but then lower it once you are parked, for a 'look'. Of course, there's other advantages such as load capacity, towing etc but that's kinda lost on a mk1 Golf.
