Suspension / Wheel torque settings, please help asap

Hey,

I'm changing the springs on my MK1 today. I searched everywhere yesterday for a Haynes manual but nobody stocked one so I'm unsure what the torque settings are..

So, if anyone has a Haynes handy I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me what the wheel bolt torque settings are (standard wheels) and what torque settings I need to use on the various suspension bolts (not sure what ones there are until I look)

Cheers :)

Dont quote me on this but im pretty sure majority of car wheels are done up to 100n/m  :dontknow:  thats what i use on my mk1.
Cant help with other bit but sure someone can just do it as tight as you can i would say without going ott.

That's what I thought of doing, that is what I usually do and used to do on my MK4 Polo, do it as tight as possible but knowing where the limit is and be a bit sensible.

Thanks for the wheel info

Cheers

Hello, first post ;).

Sorry for bump this old post up, but i don´t want to do new one. I have little problem with rear wishbone nuts, are they really 5nm ?!? They are ?17mm nuts?
Same size nut are on rear beam and they nm is like 60-70nm

Sorry if my english ish not perfect :$ My own language is finnish.

Hi Tommi,
The Haynes does say 5, but it is a printing error, and it should be 45Nm. This can be worked out because the lbf ft figure is correct at 33, and that equals 45 Nm.
