Suspension differences

I have seen a set of coilovers for a cabriolet on ebay for my cabriolet but they say they're only for years between 74-83 and mine is an 89 model gti.

Will these fit straight on? The coilovers in question are these…

they'll fit, worst thing you'll have to do is change top mounts for earlier ones, but 99% they'll swap right over no problem.

looking at them there is no rear upper spring plate included, and there are a couple sizes available. buy a pre-84 rear plate and it should fit. your old one will probably be rotten anyway
