Sump Removal?
Just wondering if removing the sump is an easy job?? Mine`s a bit leaky so have brought a new gasket from GSF. Are the bolts torqued up at all, or have come off in any special sequence etc???
Finally can i whack the new gasket straight on (once both metal surfaces have been cleaned of course) or do i need to buy a special bonding paste or anything :dontknow:
Keen to hear the gangs experience of this job
Cheers!

was a bit lazy really, as i should have searched thru the search engine first….
just got the gasket out of the car, and it`s a black one. Plasticky outer layers, and compressed paper inards. ?21 seems a bit steep, so i`ll put the GSF one on and see if it leaks as bad as the existing one.
If it still chucks it out, then i`ll have to get my pants pulled down up the vw parts dept! ops:
If it`s warm over the weekend (v.doubtful) i`ll put it on and report back.
