Stretching tyres hmmmm

I like the euro look of shodding rims with stretched rubber. Just bought some ronal turbos and think they would look pimp if I did this. 8)
Ive seen people running 165/50 R15s on 7X15 wheel. 8)

A few questions……

1. Is this safe? Are they likely to come off when nailing it down country roads. :roll:

2. Is my local tyre fitter going to look at me funny and tell me to p*ss off!?

3. Is it likely to damage my wheels with everyday driving?
