Steering rack '86 cabriolet

Looking at the Haynes it looks reasonably straightforward to replace the steering rack, but looking under the car it looks pretty fiddly with access the main problem. Is this a nightmare job and worth getting done by a garage or is it do-able?

Bit of a pain with engine in place and probably make you swear at times but do- able.
