Steering feel......had enough.

Hi guys.

Ive had my cabby for 7 years now and eventually decided ive had enough of the slack feeling steering.  
I'd like it to feel like a new mk1. How does yours feel? Am I looking for something I can't get, or is it possible.

What should I check/replace??

Check the steering rack for play including the track rod ends & bottom ball joints, replace what's worn. You could also replace the steering rack mounts with poly.

Check the following:

Tracking and camber
Tyre pressures

and as above, check for play in all steering/suspension components, ie including top mounts, rear suspension.
