Pattern springs will be generic and prob wrong for your model unless you get genuine VW.
I'd save the £ and only replace if broken, usually end coil broken.

Pretty straight forward barring any seized lower bolts, don't even need to compress springs at rear.
If your original plan was to leave rears it was crazy to want to replace front springs with pattern parts. You'd end up with a right mix and match setup.
