speedo cable

i've undone the bracket etc.. but the sod does not want to come out. is it just a case of being firm or am i missing something? i'm sure it should just pull out!?

It should just pull out, but watch you don't break it as it's a form of plastic

box is nearly out. speedo cable is still in.

What are you like !! If the cable won't come out of the box take it off the back of the speedo - maybe when the box is out you'll see what's then holding it. Good luck mate

Give it a wiggle, the speedo drive is a close fit with the gear which drives it, and should come loose with a bit of wiggling about after removing the fixing bolt/screw - make sure it's not being pulled out of line by having moved the gearbox, so that you can pull it at 90 degrees, it should come out…(I think those are what you call 'famous last words'!)

oh trust me, it's not coming out. dubstar74 came round and begin operation 'starsky'n'clutch'. what a wonderful, helpful man. couldn't get the thing out with both of us on it!

wooders,dont be too harsh on the end as they do come off,trust me i know, and you try getting it out of the gearbox.

it should just pull out tho,good luck,
