speedo cable

my 4 speed cable wont fit my new 5 speed box on my 1.6gtd engine.
will any big block cable fit and any final drive plastic thing fit?

this is the bits im talking about.

You need the orange drive for the five speed cable. The white one is for the four speed gearbox

I'm just changing my cable and my plastic cog has fell into my gearbox and seems to have vanished any idea how I can get it out or is it safe to drive on ? 

I think its made of plastic for a reason.. So it just smashes up. But dont hold me to that lol

its pot luck, it will either be safely munched or a chunk of it will lodge somewhere critical liek the selectors and require box split
