Rose jointed gear linkage
Hi everyone, new here!!!
Did a search for rose jointed linkages, couldn't find anything, so I hope i'm not asking an old question!?
Anyone know where I can get one or if anyone has fabricated their own??
cheers
Steve

I know TSR do some uprated gear linkages - not sure what type though?

I know someone's going to say I'm wrong, but IMHO once you've replaced the worn parts and correctly adjusted it, there's nothing wrong with the stock gearchange! My car does the 1/4 mile in 14.1 secs, without the help of a big megaturbo or anything, so you can imagine my gearchanges are far from lazy! If needs be I could look at graphs and see how fast the stock linkage is!

I'm inclined to agree with paul, once set up properly the linkage is fine - getting there's the hard bit!

only addition on the stock linkage i'd make is a weighted shift rod. not a major change but feels so much nicer.

Might try weighted rod, sounds to make sense, that said, Paul, you're probably right, why mess with what VW got right in the first place!

I have to say once all bushes and bearings replaced the whole thing feels really good and tight. The weighted rod is a real help to smooth things out though.
Only thing that might appeal is a short shift as the throw is fairly long…

dont do it the short shift is a bugger to get right and drifts out really quickly.
