Recurring problem with gearbox
The gearbox guys have suggested that the pushrod is not running true and has probably damaged the pushrod push thus causing the noise. This would make sense as the bush was damaged and replaced when they had it out… probable causing the original noise. The gearbox guys will sort the gearbox for free but I still have to pay a seperate garage to remove it.
What I want to know is how do stop this happening again? The clutch was replaced but they suggested that maybe the original cause of the misaligned pushrod could still be on the engine….what could it be?

You say they replaced the brass bush in the spigot shaft, when you get the box removed you will be able to test the pushrod for running true (lift the clutch lever up and the rod will move forward) - it can only be either the bush not being positioned down to it's 'stop' and thus not centering the rod or the pushrod being bent. Still sounds like a release bearing, are these new or re-con parts?
