REAR WHEELS

ON THE SUBJECT OF MY REAR END (OOH ER), I HAD ALL FOUR WHEELS OFF TODAY, AS I WAS REMOVING THE BODY KIT AND BUMPERS.

ONE THING I NOTICED WAS THAT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE HUB GAVE THE APPEARANCE OF LEANING INWARDS, IN MUCH THE SAME WAY AS THE REAR PASSENGER, WHICH I WAS ASSUMING TO BE DAMAGED, AS THE WHEEL ITSELF WAS NOT BUCKLED.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE REAR WHEELS ARE SUPPOSED TO LEAN INWARDS TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE WHEELS???

ITS A VW GOLD MK1, 1989 KARMANN

Best thing to do is get it down to somewhere that does 4 wheel laser alignment and get it looked at by them. Probably cost £30 - 40 including front tracking and camber adjustment. The rears on my cabby do lean in a bit at the top which is normal (spec) when I had my laser alignment done. We couldn't possibly give an accurate judgement from a post. Also please stop using capitals in your posts, does make it harder to read and is regarding as shouting when used in the body of a message.

It could be a bent stub axle which isn't a major job to put right or it could be something far more involved  :dontknow:

I no longer have the Mk1!! I now whizz round in a Black 1990 3dr Mk2 GTi 8v but the roof doesn't fold back when the sun shines :o
